Our Space

Downstairs in the Children’s department, it is our personal goal to provide a positive environment for growing and learning. We have created a space for our young patrons which is bright, colourful and full of activity!

You will notice “Morris the Moose” when you enter the department. Morris has been a fixture at our Library since 1920, watching over children as they grow up! Early Literacy computer stations are available for children ages 2-10 with over 40 fun, interactive and educational games that children will love to explore! A large collection of board games geared towards learning basic skills such as reading, counting, using their memory and recognizing colours are available to use while spending time in the Children’s department.

Children of all ages will also delight in holding their own puppet shows using our puppet theatre along with the great variety of ‘Melissa and Doug’ puppets.

Whether you are researching a project topic, looking for the latest best-selling Children’s fiction, need the perfect bedtime story or a Friday night movie, let us know and we’ll be happy to guide you in the right direction!

Our Collection

We are proud to offer a wide variety of board books, picture books, comics, early readers, magazines, juvenile fiction and non-fiction. We also have picture books as well as juvenile fiction and non-fiction on audio cd and a great selection of movies. including several educational titles.
Thanks to donations, we are happy to report that the size of our collection is always increasing. If you have children’s books or movies that are in really good shape, we always take donations! Make sure you check this website frequently for a list of our newest titles.
